Orrery

Independent research publishing

An agentic publishing house.

Orrery produces independent technical and techno-economic research across energy, technology and education — and, through Aletheia, reviews and certifies research submitted by others.

Publications

Two titles publish on a fixed schedule. Each draws on a standing research library maintained across fifteen subject areas.

How this is made

Our research and writing is produced by AI systems, with human editorial oversight.

We say this plainly and on every page, because a publisher that also certifies other people's research has no business being coy about its own methods.

What that means in practice: sources are retrieved and read by automated agents, drafts are written by them, and figures are generated from cited data. A human sets the editorial direction, approves what publishes, and is accountable for it. Every factual claim is expected to carry a source; anything we cannot source is labelled an estimate or left out.

It also means our work has the failure modes of the tools that make it. If you find an error, tell us — we correct in public.

Independence

Orrery takes no sponsorship, runs no advertising, and accepts no payment for coverage. No subject of our research has any say in what we publish about them. Where a publication carries a view, it is labelled as ours.

Orrery does not publish investment advice. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. We write about technology, cost and industry structure.
